Patriots Strength

Patriots resisted for Washington. He realized to preserve them from destruction he wouldnt risk it all in one major battle. He had to go step by step.weakening small notes. He couldnt allow to lose everything in a big war. He was out'numbered and outmanuvered. He lost most of his skills to retreat that kept them safe. By preserving Washington he sustained him in hardship. His small army hunted together and had ravage clothin. By preocupying Washington freed the local militia to suppress loyalists in the ports.

The British Misunderstand the conflict

lord howe continued to do things the same way. British thought it was a traditional war. The british captured the patriots capital; philadpehia. But they keep loosing wars because they didnt understand the conflict. The patriots were were fighting the revolutionary war with all their heart. Thomas Paine wrote " The American Crisis". George Washington read this to his army to encourage them.

The British Make Mistake

two months after defeating the conqueror, the British committed the same mistake they did in Bunkerhill. Patriots had taken the hill . Lord William Howe have decided to take it back. Later on they repeated the same mistakes. Patriot had the hill and Howe order an assault. However the patriot loose repeatedly. But in the 3rd chance they got the hill. But still the British won the battle.

6 months later Hnery Knox arrived with canyons to support the Patriots. With these canyons using chelling in order to attack and finally recapture Boston again. The british left.

Opposing Sides

At the beginning of thw war British had greater advantages such as: the manufacture and production of amunition and weapons. The british had a stable goverment while the colonists were having struggles with the continental army. The colonists lacked of a real president and a good goverment. no only the british troops were good trained but also had plenty of supplies.

The Colonists Declare Independence

Congress selected a Committee to declare independence. On July 2nd the congress voted that America was free and two days later, the declaration of independence was signed. Thomas jefferson drafted the declaration almost everything by himself. He wrote that America independence was neccesary. Although it is a long list of colonial grievances against the Birtish. The declaration said that all men were created equal. They took away that salves were eauql too,due that other colonies wont signed the declaration. But with this phrase they hoped this will be used as inspiration for future generation to abolish slavery.

Thomas Paine Radical Proposal


Thomas Paine proposed indepndece from Britain, union from the States and a republican Goverment. He denounced kings as a fraud and tyrans  that search for their benefits. He said that thata election should go farther that the onle 1/3 that was voting. H edidnt agree with the class structure he said that noble people wasnt noble without having a title. He argued that a republic will be recognized by merit, not by an inheritage title.

Loyalists Opposed The Patriots Demands

about one fifth of colonist reamin loyal and others desire to stay neutral. loyalist had the image of being wealthy and elitetists that  work either with the crown or goverment. But many loyalist were farmers and artesans. And many other feared the opprresion of majority. Even though they dislike taxes, comitteees keep leiving taxes amog them. They hated the militia draft, they were allowed of free speeching, but they were really afraid of patriots so they didnt put it in practice. Native Americans feel attracted to loyalism, they wanted that british could help them and countrattack the colonists.

The Second Continental Congress

all colonies were represented including Georgia.  The second contintel congress took place in Philadelphia on May 1775. The congress assume the responsability of war. They were in desperate need of help so they set George Washington as a commander troop; who come from a wealthy family.
     Some radicals member of thye congress where desperate to declare independence from Great Britain, but they also accepted that they were still not ready. After 3 months, the congress send an Olive Grand Petition to the king and parliament both rejected the petition and send even more troops to Boston.

the Battles of Lexington and Concord

In 1775 dispute started between british and colonists. Thomas Gage was a military commander and was named as the Massachusetts. The battles of Lexington and Concord took place on April 19 1775. Gage provoce the battles by sending troops to arrest John Hands and Samuel Adams. Troops were ordered to seized weapons At Concord. Paul Revere was in charge to advice if the troops were near to drive them out of Lexington. About 70 patriots marched downtown. The red coats were ask to disperse as they did someone ran on fire and killed 8 patriots. this shot was said it was heard all over the world. Red coats were marching to conquer. when they on their way to Boston the ran with a surprise; hundreds of militia attacked them

Intolerable Acts

The colonists filled anger with the closing of the boards. If they didnt obey they will take them to england to get a justice trial that was called the administration of justice act. Every soldier that committed a flaw will be trial in England. The purpose of the Quebec act took away land of the colonies. The colonists rejected that the british could shut down the trade and do whatever they wanted with their government. People acted violently. Nobody could work for the gorvernment or speaking in favor of it.  

The Boston Tea Party

Parliament kept taxing on tea. Therefore colonists stop buying british tea. So they start buying Dutch tea. This boycott brought financial trouble. British East India company start facing financial issues. due to this parliament passed a new law that stated that shipment will get directly helping decreasing taxes and making tea more affordable. Even though the colonists did not wanted to buy it still. They thought that if they started buying British tea it will lead to jeopardy. On one night the Boston patriot took over the situation by dressing as indians and boarded 3 boats that just arrived, also they throw the tea into the harbor.

Colonial Protests Intesify

Colonist resisted taxes, the colonist protested in three different forms such as intelectual protest, economic boycotts and violent intimidations this make the british force to backdown. The colonial leaders wrote pamplets, drafted resolutions, gave speeches and delivered sermons. This new surge in political activities astonished a man called John Adams, who was a prominent laywer from Massachussetts.The colonists also protested by throwing stones,destroying merchandise scream at them and making riots. In Boston they protested with The Boston tea party where colonists dressed up as indians and threw tea into the harbor, due ti the increase of taxes.





Taxation Without Representation

Colonist protested  the stamp act. They said it threatened their prosperity. Colonial leaders started questioning the parliament. Colonial leaders said that the parliament had no right to tax them. Colonists also believed that if they accepted this taxes the parliament will start taxing them more and more. Also colonist thought the stamp act was a conspiracy to destroy the colonies. They thought it was unfair to pay taxes because they did not have the right to vote. Parliament said the colonist were selfish and narrow minded. The British empire needed  money so thats why they started taxing colonies.

New Taxes

George Grenville Protested and he proposed to raise moeny by collecting duties.The Sugar act  where put into effect, actually lower the duty of molasses.Also he created courts and assigned custom officers to collect duties. Grenville thought that this will encourage people to pay taxes. In 1765 the parliament approve another bill which was the quartering act the consisted that colonists should supply the british soldiers with food and housing. Also in 1765 they pass another bill called the stam act that tried to raise money by taxin everything that was printed like books, newspapers, documents, contracts and land deeds.


Causes Of the Revolution

     In 1763, England won the French and Indian War against France that had been fought  in North America, and so the English speaking settlers on the East Coast could stop worrying that they were about to be taken over by France. First the colonists cherised the political rights they enjoyed. But then  the britsh  have to pay  the debts that war created. The English government began to make the the colonists  pay more taxes. This brought the English a lot of money, but this piss off the colonists. They were angry because they couldn't vote or speak for themselves in England about these taxes. The colonists said this was "taxation without representation" and said it was wrong.
      

Whats the Revolution?

The American Revolution it a series of events, ideas, and changes that come after political separation of the 13 colonies in North America from the British. Then it came the creation of U.S.A.

The French and Indian War

The french and indian war was fought over the river valley  George Washington lead the british troops. The french and the indians allied to fight against the british. France destroyed the british army in lake Ontario and lake George. The Indians made favors to the French such as raiding that frontere from Penssylvania and virginia.  The French  shipping were blocked so they couldnt give what they promised to the indians, this ones who decided to leave. This allowed the british to take over the ports such as  Quebec and Montereal. Also they force the governer to surrounded the rest of Canada. In 1763 they signed the treaty of Parisin. The british kept Canada, lakes, rivers, and Florida.
